Okay! Things're going much better today -- starting last night, actually. :) Things got a bit better, and I finished my web-sources (there were so many, and I was going so slow on 'em that they were REALLY getting me down) with enough time to start replaying... Kyrandia!

See, yes, I am in the middle of replaying FF7, but that takes actual time. Kyrandia, see, is this old (1992-1996 depending on which game you're talking about, IIRC) computer game for young adults. And... man. I used to play that game over and over. But then mom gave Kyrandia 1 to my grandpa, and Kyrandia 2 used those ancient floppies and I couldn't get it to work by just transferring the setup files to other discs, and Kyrandia 3... would install, but didn't like to. So it's been years. And I was bemourning this to she_prime, and next thing I know, she's dropped me a link to where I can download 'em (as they've become abandonware after all this time). And... man, I forgot how much glee these games filled me with, and since you can save anywhere and I've played it so much, I CAN just play for 10 minutes between studying sessions. [grins] The game, so snarky it is. Can't wait until I can get to Kyrandia 2 (playing 'em in order, darn it!) as I recall absolutely adoring the snarky alchemist-witch woman who's the main character. Ahem.

Anyway, right now I'm going through hard-copy sources, but those are going amazingly fast (historical texts that are easy to read?! WHO came up with this innovation and where may I congratulate this person?!) and so I'm taking a quick break to do a little writing. Y'know -- just a little.

Sooo, yeah. Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween is usually my favourite holiday of the year -- not that it's easy to pick one, but I love wearing costumes. With midterms and the roomies usually planning things, I waited too long this year to make myself a 'real' costume (ie, something I spent weeks pondering and deliberating over), but, hey, I have a labcoat and a horrible maroon vest and glasses I can tape up -- and a folio I can label 'final exams' and carry around with me. Costume's a little heavy (Three layers! Woo!) but at least I HAVE one, even if nobody else in the apartment does (Well, Brad's wearing just a housecoat and is claiming to be 'Hugh Heffner without the Playboy bunnies or car or mansion', but I'm not sure that counts). Thus, it's actually halloween.

Speaking of creepy, I wrote an Envy/Wrath fic yesterday that's really, really messed up. It's behind friendslock for various reasons, but if you WANT to read (...did I mention really messed up?) I'll add you. In fact, I'm using filters to read my friendslist now (for ease of, er, management), so if you want to be able to read any of the generally friendslocked but unfiltered stuff, feel free to poke your head up and I'll add you. And, you know, I find a lot of people ask if they don't mind adding ME, and so, hey! If you were thinking of adding me, but were shy, feel free. :) Go ahead, do it now. Or whenever. I don't mind. :) Even if you never comment -- though, of course, I'd be happy to hear from you!

(...Idly, I always worry when I post drabbles and the person who requested it never responded. Is it me? Did I not get in contact with them well enough? I don't want to ever look like I'm pestering them, but -- I don't want them to miss something they wanted enough to add a request in for, and that I put work into for them. >_> Oh well.)

A friend of mine - two, in fact - are in serious emotional pain right now. Mici, Brian, if you're reading this, remember... I do love you. A whole lot. And I'm thinking of you both, respectively, and wishing I could do more.

...It's hard to figure out what to say when people are hurting. You try and try and no matter what you say, you fear it's not enough, it's not GOOD enough, because they're hurting from the inside, and you can only try to help from the outside.

So I was browsing through ebay yesterday - I forget why, possibly hoping to find a version of Due South season 1 that *wasn't* over $50 American, and I plugged in a search for Yun Kouga's name.

Turns out she's finished Earthian. The last book, "Secret Garden - Finale, 2003" was up there. Unfortunately, due to having spent a whole lot of money, I couldn't get it. Maybe they'll be another copy online after my birthday, the big 2-0.

(Earthian, by the way, is a beautifully drawn manga about two angels who come down to earth to decide if it needs to be destroyed or not. And I *love* Michael and Raphael in that. Since it's called 'Secret Garden', I'm almost SURE it's dealing with their forbidden relationship...)
